Summer is coming !

May 14, 2018

Dear friends,

Get ready for a summer of fun!

To be helpful (and to help get my head around what is happening!) I have listed below the things coming up over the summer months.

Bring it on!

Saturday June 16th , from 7pm

Coxley’s Got Talent

Christ Church, Coxley

Come along an watch our very first talent show, featuring local people displaying their gifts and talents! Tickets are only £5 for adults and £1 for children and we will have a licensed bar that will be open for the evening. Expect laughter, randomness and much entertainment.  If you have a talent, its not too late to be included in the programme, email Rev Paul.

Saturday June 23rd, from 4pm

Henton Fete

Henton Village Hall

Henton’s fete has been running for many years and is both well established and popular. This year is going to be even bigger with a dog show (entries welcome) and more to do for children, including a bouncy castle. If you add this to the usual selection of stalls, beer and brass band then its going to be a great afternoon out of fun and bargains!  The raffle is one of the highlights, with top quality prizes to be drawn at 4pm.

Sunday July 1st

Guy’s ordination and welcome BBQ

Our Curate and his family are moving into Coxley ready for his ordination at Wells Cathedral at 10.30am. Everybody is welcome to this service, no tickets required.  At 5pm onwards we are going to have a BBQ at St Matthew’s church, Wookey to welcome the family followed by our Cornerstone service at 6.30pm during which we will hear more from Guy and what led him to our parishes!

Saturday July 7th, from 2pm

Wookey Fete

St Matthew’s Wookey

This year we are bringing back the teddy bear zip wire! Come along and register your teddy for £2 and watch him/her zip from the tower roof above everybody’s head! Its an afternoon of fun including stalls, a bbq and lots of talent being exhibited in the church hall.

Sunday August 19th August, from 2pm

Family BBQ

The Vicarage Garden, Wookey

In August our family services take a rest for the summer but we miss everybody!  We are inviting you to a bbq in the vicarage garden. We will supply food and drinks, just come with a picnic blanket.  Plenty for children to do, everybody welcome.
