Seeing Christmas decorations on front doors, windows and houses often makes people smile as they walk by - brightening up what is often a bleak time of year!
This year, Wookey Church wants to capture that joy, and fill the church with Christmas wreaths, so that every visitor that pops into church during December feels the joy of the Christmas period. And we need your help!
You can make any sort of Christmas wreath, using whatever items: traditional greenery, recycled materials, tinsel, wool, fabric, baubles, paper etc. You can create it individually, as a family, with neighbours or as a group.
Please drop off your wreath in Wookey Church from 11:30am - 3pm on Sunday 30th November, or, if that isn’t possible, leave it by the main altar, with a note with the names of the maker/s from Monday 1st - Saturday 6th December.
Remember to collect your Christmas wreath between Boxing Day and Sunday 4th January!
Want to get out of the house and do something enjoyable and free? Then you need to come and see all of the Christmas wreaths in Wookey Church.
Wookey Church is usually open from 10am - 3pm daily, and you'll be able to see the Christmas wreaths from Monday 1st December until Christmas Eve.
You'll notice in all our churches that there'll be a new addition to the church: advent wreaths with candles on them. These candles are lit on the Sundays leading up to Christmas.
When you're young when Christmas Day seems a long way away as you go through December. So here's a chance to start celebrating early, and to introduce children God's immense love for us which we remember at Christmas!
Come to festive celebration, with lots to delight children and adults, and make this an enjoyable time!

It can be really challenging staying warm during the winter months, especially in the lead up to Christmas, and over the festive period.
There's a Warm Space in Coxley Church which is open 2:30pm - 4pm every Thursday, the cafe will be closed on Christmas Day (25th December), but open again on Thursday 1st January.
Enjoy free hot drinks. You are welcome to read books or enjoy craft activities or toys in a warm space. There are also people to chat to if you'd like some company.
